LinkedIn has expanded the Skills section of the LinkedIn profile to provide greater insight and depth into individual skills.
The Skills page provides you the with related skills, people within your network who have the skill, articles and slideshows about the skill, as well as online courses to help you develop the skill . This new functionality is very reminiscent of the old Skills page that LinkedIn removed back in 2013.
You can access these pages through a hyperlink from the LinkedIn profile page OR through the Topics directory:
https://www.linkedin.com/directory/topics-a/
You can use the new Skills Pages a number of ways. It’s a great way to do keyword research to see related skills. You can see popular Pulse articles about the skill and by clicking on the author link, learn more about key influencers. LinkedIn provides you with people within your network who have that skill which is great for recruiting or finding mentors.
The Skills Pages are a great addition to LinkedIn and I am sure we will see LinkedIn expand and develop it further as time goes by.
