How do I Recommend Someone on LinkedIn?

I love getting emails from clients and readers asking LinkedIn questions! Here’s the latest question that came in:

“All I can say is WOW! Wonderful job on my LinkedIn Profile!! Now I have a professional profile, thanks so much! I want to recommend you on LinkedIn but how? What is the best way to submit the recommendation?”

I decided the easiest way to answer this question is to record a short video showing you the steps it takes to create a LinkedIn recommendation for one of your network connections.

And here it is written out:

1. Navigate to the person’s profile you intend to recommend.
2. Click the “Recommend” link in the “Experience” section under each position they have posted or under the “Education” section for each school they have posted on their Profile.)
3. Choose a category: “Service Provider”, “Business Partner”, “Colleague” or “Student”.
4. Follow the instructions provided based on the category you selected.
