LinkedIn Changes & Memorial Day

I just got back from a long Memorial Day weekend. It was wonderful getting away and spending time down the shore. My intention was to take a break from work and really concentrate on just relaxing. It was a valiant intention but whenever my phone rang and the caller ID showed an international number, I couldn’t help but pick up. I had some lovely conversations about LinkedIn profiles with people from Switzerland, Sydney, and Johannesburg as I walked along the boardwalk in Wildwood, NJ.

Logging back into LinkedIn after a short absence, I was certain my profile would contain the new LinkedIn navigation bar that I reported about last week. Unfortunately, my LinkedIn navigation bar remains unchanged:

The one thing I have learned after working with LinkedIn over the last 4 years is that changes roll out slowly and the only thing you can do is be patient. If you aren’t one of the lucky ones who immediately got the new look, know it will happen eventually. At least that’s what I keep telling myself! 🙂

In other news, the second edition of my book: LinkedIn Makeover, Professional Secrets to a POWERFUL LinkedIn Profile is almost finished! This new edition is revised AND expanded. I’ve added so much more information and examples, it is truly, hands down, the best resource for creating a POWERFUL LinkedIn profile. Although I don’t have a drop dead date just yet, I suspect it will be available in a few weeks. I’ll let you know when things start firming up.
