My Book was Plugged During a Concert!

If you are a frequent reader of the LinkedIn Makeover Blog, you may know that my office is just outside beautiful Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Here in PA we have some odd events. Every year in Phoenixville we celebrate the anniversary of the movie, The Blob! This Blobfest celebration includes a mad dash out of the Colonial Movie Theater, just like in the movie. After the running out, we head next door for the Blob Ball in which MY favorite band, The Rivers Rockabilly Trio plays songs from the 1950’s and everyone dances! Yes, it’s true I am a VERY LONG TIME FAN of the band and in my fandom, I have done some Social Media consulting work for them. LinkedIn Profile Writer Office Open for Business

Yes, it’s true! I am back from vacation! Fripp Island in South Carolina was a wonderful place for a vacation. I did absolutely NOTHING while I was there…. except for optimizing 3 LinkedIn profiles! I know, I know! I was supposed to be resting! It’s hard to rest knowing there are LinkedIn profiles out there that need optimizing!

How I Used LinkedIn to Save Money on My Cell Phone Bill

It wasn’t that long ago I was at a networking event and I met a Sprint Representative. I had recently switched from AT&T to Sprint mainly because of their unlimited data plan with GPS included. The Sprint Rep was very friendly and I couldn’t help but ask if he knew of any way I might be able to save additional money on my Sprint cell phone bill.

Mr. Sprint Rep said, “Well, there is the IBM Friends and Family discount. It’s 25% off your monthly bill AND any additional store purchases. Do you know anyone who works at IBM?”

“I might, let me get back to you”

Good Length for LinkedIn Profile

I recently received a question about the proper length of a LinkedIn profile. I figured it would be best to publish the question and answer it for everyone to read.

Hi Donna,
I?m really curious about why some experts (including you) are saying ?use up as much space as possible?. This seems to fly in the face of the usual emphasis on brevity in writing for the web, or in writing a resume. Why do you think length is good for LinkedIn?
