Scrolling through my LinkedIn feed today, I saw this delightful meme posted by Phil Gerbyshak. It showcases two different LinkedIn profile intro cards. I am a Star Wars fan from back in the day, so whenever I see it somehow combined with LinkedIn, my heart just flutters. (Check out this infographic starring yours truly as a LinkedIn Jedi). 

At first, I giggled. It pushes the idea that people on LinkedIn are blowhards and braggarts. And that is funny. But as I read the headline on the right, I realized something. It was the optimized headline and profile I felt compelled to click to learn more. It suggests a much more intriguing story. 

Some people on LinkedIn are boastful and over the top, but the vast majority of members remain quiet about their accomplishments. 

I replied:

The truth is, from my personal experience working with over 6,000 executives, entrepreneurs, and professionals from all over the world, most people have amazing stories to tell. Accomplishments, wins, projects, promotions, and so many wonderful moments… yet for most people, their LinkedIn profile simply states, their title and nothing more.
